Hello again, long time no blog.

It’s me, Mary.

Just popping in to say I’m sorry about falling off the face of the earth.

After that big opening post I did, about trying and doing new things I completely bailed on this blog. Not intentionally, but I didn’t put aside the time I should have to let this blog become something. So I’m here, apologizing to myself, and you if you’re reading this, for failing. But I’m not disappointed I failed.

I was reading a poetry book by Iain S. Thomas, called I wrote this for you 2007-2017, and saw a poem that really spoke to me. I’ll put a picture of it here:

I really love the first line of this poem and it really kicked my butt into gear in terms of trying to blog again. I feel like when I started this blog back in February, I didn’t do it with my heart on my sleeve. Failure has always been something I’m afraid of, and I’m sure that everyone else of planet earth struggles with this fear too. Failure is something that holds you back and keeps you away from your hopes and dreams. And I don’t want to be like that anymore, so I’m going to try again.

If I fail then I guess I’ll fail with grace and with every part of my heart.

So let me just catch you up with whats happened in the past few months. Not a lot has changed, but there were some exciting things that happened this summer.

  • In May I travelled to Toronto to see Sarah J. Maas, Author of the Throne of Glass series, as well as the Court of Thorns and Roses series. Also, one of my FAVOURITE authors ever. We waited in line for 8 hours, plus the train we took from Ottawa to Toronto was about five hours, so to say I was excited was an understatement. It was such a fun trip. I went with my best friend Hasini and stayed with my brothers girlfriend, Kate. We went to the Ripley’s Aquarium and had dinner, twice, at this restaurant called the Loose Moose.

  • A few days later, The Weekend came and preformed. It was the best concert I’ve been to in soooo soooo long. He sounded amazing live and I got to go with two of my best friends, Hasini and Atifa!

  • I took two summer courses and finished with A’s in both classes. Believe-you-me, I was surprised when I saw the final grades, especially because I took a music class and that was something I had never done before.
  • I became really close with the people I work with. I only work part time in retail because of school, but the people I work with are so amazing and honestly, so funny.  Here’s a photo of a few of us:

  • I got a pretty drastic hair cut. And what I mean is I cut my hair in my bathroom at home with a pair of scissors. You know when you look at old pictures and get nostalgic? Well thats what happened with me. And being impatient with things, I skipped the whole “going to see a professional” and took the plunge myself. And it turned out way better than I thought it would!

  • Lastly, I got laser eye surgery! I don’t need my glasses anymore, I’ve got 20/20 vision Y’all. I was really apprehensive about it at first but, BOY was I wrong. It’s been so amazing, I would even say my vision is better now than it was even with my glasses.

Phew, I apologize for such a lengthy post — if you’ve stayed long enough to get here. But thanks for reading my comeback/ summer summary. I’ve started my last year at University and have so much on my plate, but I’m super pumped to put myself back in the blogging saddle.

Here’s hoping I can actually do it this time!

Well I gotta say that poem is inspirational and I totally agree with you, I had a huge fear of failure as well. Failure will not eat you and I because you are great at what you do. I’m glad you took time to enjoy yourself. You didn’t forget who you are❤
